Le meunier,

king grape-variety of the House

Champagne TRUDON uses the three traditional grape-varieties of the Champagne area distributed as follows: 90 % of Meunier, 6 % of Pinot Noir and 4 % of Chardonnay.

The typical land plots planted with Meunier give birth to wines with varied aromatic qualities which are linked to the age of the vine, its exposure, its land relief. For instance, old vines located on slopes bring a low yield, with grapes of high maturity.

These various singularities are of strong interest for the vinification process and therefore the tasting of champagnes. Thus, you can understand, with the cuvees of the House, the specificity of Meunier, whether vinified on its own or blended with Chardonnay and/or Pinot Noir, in order to sublime it and explore its multiple attributes.
